We are excited to offer our monthly study group, “Growing Together: Co-Op Community Conversations”. These opportunities are for those interested in furthering their work on anti-racist and racially just systems.
The discussions will be led by Kelly R. Allen, Professor of Literature, and Coordinator of the NCC East 40 Community Garden at Northampton Community College. All sessions will be offered on Zoom, either online or by phone (audio only).
The next session is scheduled for Monday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. Participants are asked to listen to episode 2 of a podcast, All My Relations. You can listen to “Food Sovereignty: A Growing Movement” here or via their app.
For April’s gathering on Monday, April 5, participants are asked to ‘binge watch’ episodes of Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi, available on Hulu (select episodes are also available on YouTube).
Our first session was offered on Feb. 8. We asked participants to read this article to discuss: Identifying and Countering White Supremacy Culture in Food Systems from the Duke Sanford World Food Policy Center.
Please let us know if you’re planning to attend any or all of the sessions; you do not need to attend all the sessions – attend those that you’d like to.
We are seeking a moderator for future events (beginning in May); if interested please contact us at email@example.com. You can volunteer for one month or multiple sessions; we can provide the discussion resources if you’d like.
