As summer winds down, we are ramping up to celebrate the end of the season!

We had such a great time at last July’s Block Party, we are partnering with Northside Alive and Community Action Development Corp. to bring a similar event to Friendship Park.

What to expect at this family-friendly event: live music, good food, and lots of fun activities for all ages to enjoy. Everyone is welcome to attend, so please spread the news!

We also ask everyone attending to bring along a typical grocery receipt from your household – we will use these to see what kinds of items you are purchasing, so we can consider them for our store. You can drop off at our co-op outreach table.

We’ll kick off the event with a performance from local musical favorite, Dave Fry, between 4 – 6 p.m., and then the Nite Liters will be spinning vinyl from 6 – 8 p.m.

Other planned activities include:

  • purchasing delicious, authentic Mexican food at Lu Taquerias food truck and yummy treats from Back Door Bakeshop

  • enjoying free admission to L&KV Model Railroad Museum, next door at 705 Linden St.

  • visiting community organizations’ info / activity tables

  • meeting our City firefighters, who will be there with their fire truck

  • participating in a neighborhood scavenger hunt – win prizes

We’ll also offer a free frozen sweet treat to those attending!

We are thrilled to partner with these vital community organizations. Northside Alive, previously known as Northside 2027, is a community-driven neighborhood revitalization process launched in 2018 by the City of Bethlehem. Their mission is to enhance the Northside community through a number of initiatives, and this Block Party is only the most recent project aimed towards bringing Northside neighbors together.

Community Action Development Corporation of Bethlehem (CADCB) improves the quality of life in South Bethlehem by fostering economic opportunity, promoting community development, and empowering residents to actively participate in the decision-making process regarding the future of our diverse community.

We can’t wait to see our work with these two organizations come together – but it won’t be complete without your participation. Hope to see you there!

Help us spread the word by sharing Northside Alive’s Facebook event and inviting your friends.
