Site progress continues

Shelby Harris of our project management team, Simplified Business Solutions, provides this update of ‘work in progress’ on the building where we will be leasing the ground level for our new store.

  • The developer continues to make great progress at 250 E. Broad St. Painting, cabinets, and countertop installation is happening throughout the building, with exterior finishes ongoing on the East and South elevations. MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) rough-ins are completed on the first floor, where the co-op will be located!
  • The co-op has successfully hired Alloy5 as the architect team we’ll be working with to complete our final store design and construction documents. Alloy5 is a local firm with deep experience in retail construction, and we are proud to have them supporting this project. They are also the firm that did the architectural work for the developer on the building, so there is great synergy and efficiency in having them support the co-op’s work as well.
  • The co-op’s project management team is currently finalizing the General Contractor RFP (request for proposal) and will be inviting local contractors to submit proposals in early September. This is one of the next major steps to complete before the co-op can take possession of the first-floor retail space later this fall to begin our fit-out work.
